brought to TSSA code within 7 days of tagging,  the gas can be shut off to your furnace due to  safety concerns. 

Most furnaces come with a 10-year manufacture warranty. As for labour warranty, really look into getting a 10-year warranty on the labour even if you have to spend a couple of hundred dollars extra.
